Witches Rides are back this Fall 2026 across Birmingham with costumes, candy and great causes.

We’ve rounded up six rides you won’t want to miss, whether you’re hopping on your broom or cheering from the sidelines while candy flies. Read on for all the details, including how to sign up.

Don’t know what a Witches Ride is? It’s a costumed parade where riders dress as witches bike, walk or drive golf carts while tossing candy to parade-goers. Many raise funds for local charities.

1. Bluff Park Witches Ride “Hallow Dolly” – Oct. 18, 2026

  • What: This is no ordinary Witches Ride: This one lets you channel your inner Dolly Parton! Dress up in your best Dolly-inspired costume and walk, bike or cruise along by golf cart while tossing candy and books to spectators along the way. Ride proceeds will help get more books into kids’ hands by supporting local children’s literacy programs.

2. Hueytown Witches Ride — Oct. 24, 2026

  • What: Mark your calendars for the Witches Ride in Hueytown. This is a great opportunity to use witchy creativity and enter contests for best costume, broom, bike or golf cart, so start planning! The ride ends at the It’s Fall Y’all Fest where contest winners will be announced and you can enjoy food and family-friendly activities.
  • When: Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026 | Witches Ride: 3PM | It’s Fall Y’all Fest: 4PM
  • Where: Ride begins at Food Giant Hueytown, 145 Hueytown Plaza, Hueytown, AL 35023
  • Cost: $10 in advance | $15 day of event

3. Cahaba Heights Witches Ride — Oct. 24, 2026

  • What: Don’t miss your chance to ride with the witches through Cahaba Heights during this family-friendly community event. Whether you join the fun via broomstick or golf cart, you can expect plenty of candy and Halloween spirit. Candy will be thrown along Dolly Ridge Road in front of Meadowlawn Park and on Autumn Lane in front of Cala Coffee and Midtown Eat and Drink, so get there early to snag a good spot and catch some treats. Event proceeds will support Down Syndrome Alabama.

  • Where: Ball Fields by Cahaba Heights Elementary School, 2150 Hollis Crossings, Vestavia Hills, AL 35243

4. 2026 Homewood Witches Ride — Oct. 25, 2026

  • What: Slip into your best witchy look for the 2026 Homewood Witches Ride. This Halloween-inspired fall tradition brings hundreds of costumed riders together for an afternoon of music, vendors, community and tons of candy-throwing (and catching!) fun. Event proceeds benefit UAB’s O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center.
  • When: Sunday, Oct. 25, 2026 | Family Fall Festival: 2PM | Witches Ride: 5:30PM
  • Where: Homewood Central Park, 1632 Oxmoor Rd, Homewood, AL 35209
  • Cost: $60 (registration includes event T-shirt)

5. 2026 Trussville Witches Ride — Oct. 25, 2026

  • What: The Trussville Witches Ride rolls through town this October and you’ll want to be part of the coven. The ride starts at Cahaba Elementary School at 5PM and touch down at Ferus Artisan Ales for an after-party filled with food, drinks and music. This year’s event benefits Titan Lufti, a local child diagnosed with Biliary Atresia, a rare and life-threatening liver disease.
  • When: Sunday, Oct. 25, 2026
    • Check-in + lineup: 4PM–4:50PM
    • Ride begins: 4:50PM–5PM 
    • After Party: 5:30PM–Close

6. Star Lake Witches Ride — Oct. 25, 2026

  • What: Hop on your bike or golf cart for a magical evening witches’ ride around Star Lake in Hoover, and be sure to wear a costume! During the event, you can join in the candy parade (bring some to toss!), enjoy some spooky fun and compete for prizes for the best-decorated “broom.” Even better: 100% of event proceeds support the Green Valley Church Food Bank.
