Birmingham’s own Pynk Beard took the stage on “America’s Got Talent” Monday night, Sept. 1, delivering an emotional performance of his original song “On My Hood” that had the judges on their feet.

Once results are announced during tonight’s episode of America’s Got Talent starting at 7PM, we’ll update this article.

Here’s what the judges had to say about Pynk Beard’s killer performance.

Kenan Thompson, filling in for Simon Cowell, didn’t hold back after Pynk Beard’s late-set performance:

“That was amazing. And it’s not easy to be like one of the last performers of the night with so many talented people before you, but you just blew the roof off of this place. So, y’all better vote for this guy.”

Mel B, who’s admitted the genre isn’t usually her thing, said Pynk Beard won her over again:

“It’s not my kind of genre of music, but you make me fall in love with you and the music every single time. That was brilliant. Harmonies tight, vocals on point, and you look great, brother.”

Sofía Vergara praised his stage presence and his band:

“You’re like a really seasoned performer when you’re up there. Your voice is amazing. Your song is spectacular and your band, I love your band, too.”

Howie Mandel called out Pynk Beard’s years as a behind-the-scenes hitmaker finally stepping into the spotlight:

“You’ve been behind the scenes all these years making hits for others. And it’s time for you to step forward and become the star yourself. What you just did is made it really hard for America after everything we’ve seen tonight to pick only three. But with that song and with that closing, I have a good feeling that America is going to vote you through.”

Watch the performance

Pynk Beard performed his original song, “On My Hood,” for this episode.

For his audition in July, he also performed an original song, “Mine, Lord Willing.”

That also blew the socks off the judges, resulting in Pynk Beard moving on to the quarterfinals.

Only three acts move on from this round, meaning that competitors had to pull out all the stops for the quarterfinals. Check back here tonight for the results.
