You might know Habitat Feed & Social as the restaurant inside the Grand Bohemian Hotel—but you don’t have to be staying overnight to make a night of it.
With a seasonal, farm-to-table menu, rooftop drinks, live music and hands-on cooking classes, this Mountain Brook spot has plenty going on all on its own. Keep reading for a few reasons to add this rooftop to your summer plans.
Why you should sample Habitat’s seasonal drinks + bites from the garden

Habitat’s seasonal menu is led by Chef de Cuisine Theorun Anderson, who puts fresh ingredients front and center. Some of those ingredients are even grown steps away in the restaurant’s on-site herb garden.
The summer menu is a celebration of the season—here’s what we love this summer:
- Try: The Summer Burrata, served with bacon, pesto + watermelon, or the crispy pork belly with pickled pepper slaw + squash
- Sip: A Frambois Aperol Spritz, watermelon spicy margarita or blueberry basil smash from the rooftop
The menu evolves with the seasons, so there’s always a reason to come back and see what’s new at Habitat Feed & Social!
Happy hour on the rooftop at Habitat Feed & Social in Mountain Brook

Need a reason to make plans after work? Habitat’s weekday Happy Hour runs Monday-Friday from 3–6PM with food and drink specials designed for sharing. It’s an easy way to turn an ordinary weekday into a special rooftop hang.
- The bites: Crispy Brussels sprouts, braised pork belly sliders, crispy confit chicken wings, gumbo and a smash burger loaded with pepper jam, pimento cheese + smoked bacon
- The drinks: Select wines, well drinks and domestic drafts are $7 + Happy Hour bites are $8.
Thursdays at Habitat are for the girls

Ladies, this one’s for you! Gather your favorite people and head to the rooftop on Thursday nights for Habitat’s Girl Dinner, served 5–9PM.
For $60 for two, you’ll get two Caesar salads, shareable truffle fries and your choice of two strawberry spritzers or two glasses of Cava.
Bonus: Rotating local musicians perform on the rooftop, so you can settle in for dinner, drinks + live music all in one spot!
Sharpen your cooking skills at Habitat Cooking School

One of Habitat’s standout offerings goes beyond the dinner table: Habitat Cooking School.
Classes give guests a chance to get hands-on in the kitchen while learning new techniques and exploring different ingredients. Depending on the class, you might perfect your knife skills, learn to grill, prepare pasta or seafood, or create beautiful desserts.
There’s also a Wine Blending experience for those who want to swap the kitchen for the vineyard. Guests learn about the stories behind the grapes, taste different wines and blend their own bottle of red.
Ready to get cooking? Check out the upcoming Habitat Cooking School classes and reserve your spot before the next one fills up.
