Your guide to FISE at City Walk BHAM
What is the FISE World Series?

Founded in France in 1997, the Festival International des Sports Extrêmes (FISE) World Series is part international sporting event, part music festival and part street culture celebration. Over the three-day weekend, fans can watch extreme BMX freestyle riders, professional skateboarders and elite 3×3 basketball teams compete while enjoying live music, local food trucks and interactive experiences spread throughout City Walk BHAM.

Where will FISE be held?

As the only U.S. stop on the FISE World Tour, the Magic City stuck out to festival organizers for several reasons. Birmingham has experience hosting international events of scale (think The World Games 2022 and The World Police & Fire Games in 2024) and the city is home to one of the Southeast’s premier skating facilities at City Walk BHAM.
“When we walked through [City Walk BHAM], we knew instantly this was where we wanted the event. The skate park is unbelievable. It’s world-class. Seeing pictures doesn’t do it justice.”
Kendall Goodden, Senior Global Partnerships Manager, FISE World Series

Located under the shade of the I-59/20 bridge—a welcome respite for an outdoor festival in August—City Walk BHAM is a dynamic 31-acre park spread across 10 blocks in downtown Birmingham. In addition to the aforementioned skate park, City Walk BHAM is home to:
- An 11,000-square-foot roller skating rink
- Sculptures by local artists like Ajene Williams, Randy Gachet and Willie Williams
- A 10,000-square-foot amphitheater, capable of hosting 1,000+ guests
- 10 pickleball courts
- A 50,000 square-foot off-leash dog park called The Barkery
- A kids’ playground with swing sets, see saws, slides, climbable rope pyramids + more
As a part of Birmingham’s Uptown Entertainment District, City Walk BHAM is just a short walk from incredible dining options like Uptown Cantina, Eugene’s Hot Chicken, K&J’s Elegant Pastries and more.
