On Saturday, August 15, 2026, the world-renowned Omnium Circus is coming to Birmingham for a live show, but that’s only a portion of the events happening at the 10th annual Journey of Hope.

1. A performance from the inclusive + accessible Omnium Circus

“Omnium” is a Latin word that translates to “of all,” and Omnium Circus was created to showcase multi-ethnic, multi-racial and multi-abled talent.

Throughout the show, you can expect crazy tricks and entertainment, all with accessibility bridges like:

• Audio description
• ADA seating
• Assisted Listening Devices
• Integrated ASL
• Tactile experiences

The mission of Omnium Circus pairs well with that of United Ability—both are committed to inclusion and meaningful experiences for everyone.

2. Celebrating community champion EBSCO

Many individuals and organizations across Birmingham work tirelessly to make our community more inclusive. One of those longtime partners is EBSCO Industries, which has supported United Ability for nearly 50 years through donations, volunteer efforts, employment services and its partnership with Gone For Good.

Journey of Hope will also honor longtime occupational therapist Nancy Gardner with the Dr. E. Award of Inspiration, recognizing her 42 years of service to United Ability and the families she supported.

3. The powerful testimony of the Little family

Each year, Journey of Hope highlights a family whose story reflects the impact of United Ability’s programs. This year’s featured family, the Littles, found support and community through the Hand In Hand Early Learning Center after welcoming twin daughters Sarah and Harper in 2020.

For Jessica Little, the experience is about much more than one family.

“A diagnosis or a disability shouldn’t diminish your hope that your kids are going to be fully valued and included. At United Ability, they gave me back that hope. They treated Sarah and Harper like kids first.
