Alabaster’s Lotus Catfe closing Aug. 31: How to help + adopt cats

After 3.5 years of serving the local community, The Lotus Catfe in Alabaster has announced it must vacate its location at 7895 Highway 119 by August 31.

Founded by Skye Vaillancourt alongside Ginger Cat Rescue, the popular cat lounge and yoga spot has helped find forever homes for over 130 rescue cats. Now, the primary focus is finding permanent, loving homes for the 17 cats currently remaining at the space.

Here is how you can support the rescue and its remaining residents before doors close at the end of the month.

Adopt a cat in Alabaster, AL

The highest priority for the team is finding homes for each of the cats. As of Monday, Aug. 3, there are 17 remaining cats.

To help speed up the adoption process, adoption fees have been reduced to $25 per cat.

Standard adoption applications are still required prior to approval.

Donate to Ginger Cat Rescue medical expenses

Before heading to their forever homes, every cat and kitten must be fully vetted, spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccinations. The rescue needs to cover immediate spay/neuter certificate expenses and veterinary care costs.
