Looking for a new place to grab a craft beer in Pelham? A new locally owned bar and lounge is hoping to become just that.

The Old Place recently opened at 112 Bowling Lane in the former Beer Hog space, serving up dozens of beers on tap, elevated bar bites and plenty of room to hang out with friends.

Here’s what you’ll find at The Old Place

Owner Ian Johnson said his goal wasn’t just to open another bar—it was to create a welcoming neighborhood gathering place.

“We really wanted to have some place in our area that felt more close knit—a place like Cheers, where when you walk through the door, the bartenders know who you are.”

Whether you’re a craft beer fan or prefer a classic cocktail, The Old Place offers a little something for everyone. Highlights include:

  • 32 rotating craft beers on tap from around the world
  • A full liquor bar featuring premium spirits
  • A selection of domestic beers, including Coors Light, Miller Lite and Coors Banquet
  • A kitchen serving hot sandwiches, appetizers and shareable snacks
  • A game room with pool tables, pinball and a claw machine
  • A spacious outdoor patio with cornhole

The menu features several customer favorites, including the Cuban sandwich made with authentic Cuban bread sourced from a Cuban deli. Other popular picks include the chipotle chicken sandwich, Irish nachos, spicy chicken nachos and sticky toffee pudding for dessert.

Live music + room to relax in the Pelham area

Beyond the food and drinks, Johnson hopes The Old Place becomes a regular gathering spot for Pelham residents.

The venue plans to host live music on weekends as its entertainment calendar grows, with local band Finding North scheduled to perform July 24. Guests can also spend time on what Johnson says is “probably the best patio in Pelham.”

As the new business settles into the community, Johnson says he’s excited to continue building a loyal customer base.

“We just really hope we can get the word out a little bit better and keep growing our sales so that this place can become a staple for all of Pelham and the surrounding areas.”
