Of the 18 new building permits issued across the state this past week for construction projects exceeding $1 million, five are for Birmingham metro projects.

One of the priciest projects of this group of permits is for a new wellness center in Homewood, which was issued a $7.3 million permit.

$7.3 million permit issued for Vitalogy Wellness Center

Pylon Building Group recently broke ground on the Vitalogy Wellness Center & Med-Spa, a three-story, Class A medical office building located at 2714 20th Street South in Homewood.

The project will replace the existing Metcalf Realty building and serve as a modern hub for holistic, patient-centered care and professional medical service.

Founded by Dr. Farah Sultan, Vitalogy Wellness Center & Med-Spa focuses on a comprehensive approach to well-being. The practice blends functional medicine with advanced treatments such as:

  • Hormone therapy + weight loss programs
  • Body contouring + regenerative medicine
  • IV nutrition therapy
  • Skin rejuvenation, injectables + laser treatments

The third floor of the new facility will serve as the future home for the practice, while the remaining space in the building will be leased to other medical practices.
