New residence hall project at Highland College + more high-dollar building permits

This past week, 13 new building permits were issued across the state for construction projects exceeding $1 million. These permits include projects in Auburn, Tuscaloosa, Oxford, Madison and the Birmingham metro.
One of the priciest of these projects is part of a residence hall project for Highlands College, founded by Church of the Highlands in Birmingham.
New residence hall at Highlands College
BL Harbert was issued a $3 million permit for work on a new residence hall at Highlands College, located off U.S 280 in Birmingham. The growing college, recently completed construction of The Village II on the Grandview campus, and The Village III is now under construction.
The new 110,000-square-foot, seven-story facility is designed to house 286 students, significantly expanding the on-campus experience.
The Village III will be completed by the end of the year.
