How to celebrate Cinco de Mayo 2026 in Birmingham—events, specials + more

It’s the crossover event taco lovers have been waiting for: Cinco de Mayo falls on Taco Tuesday this year, and Birmingham is celebrating accordingly.

The significance of Cinco de Mayo

Also known as Battle of Puebla Day, Cinco de Mayo celebrates the Mexican army’s victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War in 1862.

1. Birmingham Taco & Tequila Bar Crawl
