Got plans to travel northbound on U.S. 31 across the Cahaba River toward the Galleria, Trader Joe’s or I-65?

Expect some delays Tuesday morning.

The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is inspecting the bridge over the Cahaba on Tuesday, April 7 between 9:30AM to 12:30PM.

The good news: It’s right after the big morning commune. The bad news: If you had plans for lunch around the area, you may want to start making some other plans.

ALDOT sent out a notice today encouraging motorists to use alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs and use extreme caution in this area.

What’s your plan for the closures on 31 northbound April 7? Got tips? Tell us on social media by tagging us in the comment section at @bhamnow.
