Birmingham has a wealth of delicious cuisine to try at award-winning restaurants across town, but for those looking for a quick bite or a more casual setting, there are plenty of food trucks to visit.

Check out these two food trucks that are returning to Birmingham’s food scene in addition to one newcomer.

Returning: Simone’s Kitchen ATL

After two years off the road, Chef Simone of the local favorite Simone’s Kitchen ATL is back with a brand new food truck, which is now available for bookings.

Simone’s Kitchen ATL will be posted at The Bodega Lounge courtyard from 6-11PM on Friday, April 3 to celebrate its grand opening. The food truck will be serving up Southern- and Cajun-inspired meals, including:

  • Seafood stuffed grilled cheese + fries
  • Cajun pasta trio + garlic toast
  • Strawberry salmon + shrimp salad
  • Triple threat nachos
  • Bayou Fries

Returning: The Beyond Tikka

Formerly known as Hyderbad Dum Zone, this popular Pelham food truck just relaunched under a new name. Co-owner Srivalli Sai stepped away from the food truck in 2022 to focus on her family, according to the Shelby County Reporter.

New: What Da Spud

A new food truck, What Da Spud, hosted its soft opening at the end of March. The potato-focused truck offers loaded baked potatoes of all kinds. There are also options to build your own loaded potato with add ons.

Menu items include:

  • The Classic Heavyweight — Garlic butter, cheese, sour cream, bacon, chives
  • Chicken Crack Spud — Chicken (grilled or fried), garlic butter, cheese, ranch, bacon, chives
  • Loaded Hustler — Double meat, garlic butter, cheese, sour cream, chives
  • Veggie Hustle — Garlic butter, cheese, onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, broccoli, chives
