Fluid Solutions, a company that creates fluid management systems for critical infrastructure, is expanding its operations in Birmingham and building a new headquarters in Irondale, the Birmingham Business Alliance announced last week.

Specializing in the design, installation and servicing of fuel, water, and fire protection systems globally, Fluid Solutions is retaining 49 jobs in at its Birmingham headquarters on top of a multi-million-dollar capital investment.

The new headquarters, which is located at 2601 Commerce Blvd., is expected to be complete Oct. 29, and D.L. Acton Construction is facilitating the project.

Fluid Solutions has been operating in Birmingham since 2007, contributing to the area’s status as a hub for more than 1,300 unique manufacturing companies.

“We serve a wide range of industries — including government and defense, commercial, private sector and international projects. Thanks to our location in the Birmingham region, we have both logistical access to our customers and the top design and engineering talent we need to continue our growth.”

The expansion to Irondale represents another economic boon for the growing city, which has had its fair share of business news in the last several months. The big project on the horizon is the upcoming Costco location set to open Spring 2028.

“Creating and retaining nearly 50 high-quality jobs strengthens our local economy and creates real opportunity for families in our community. We’re encouraged by the impact this news will have on our workforce and our future, as this momentum continues to position Irondale as a destination for high-quality jobs and investment.”

Irondale Mayor James D. Stewart, Jr.
