Expect more lane closures on Highway 280 as the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) continues bridge inspections and starts asphalt repairs.
Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming road work.
March 28-29: 280 at CR-41 in Shelby County

At Shelby County 41 on US-280, ALDOT will perform asphalt patching repairs this weekend, March 28-29, weather permitting.
The repairs will involve:
- Segments of US-280 east and west will be closed at the CR-41 intersection at various times between 7AM and 4PM
- One lane of traffic will remain open in both directions on US-280 during the repairs
- All lanes are expected to be reopened by 4PM on both Saturday and Sunday
March 31: Cahaba River bridge inspection

From 9AM to 12:30PM on Tuesday, March 31, westbound lanes on US-280 will be temporarily closed to complete the bridge inspection that took began earlier this week.
Closures will occur briefly and one lane at a time, so traffic will not be completely blocked on US-280 west.
The bridge over Cahaba River is before the Grandview Medical Center and after the left turn to Target.
The Alabama Department of Transportation advises motorists:
- Use alternate routes
- Adjust arrival and departure times
- Observe modified work zone speed limits
- Use extreme caution in this area
