New Homewood ice cream shop New Shoes coming Spring 2026

Construction is underway at a future ice cream shop located in the heart of downtown Homewood.
The shop, New Shoes, made its debut at the Taste of Homewood earlier this month, taking home 2nd place in the People’s Choice Awards for its tiny soft serve ice cream cone samples.
Although not much info has been released about the upcoming shop, New Shoes has dropped progress photos and brightly-colored sneaker-clad branding on its Instagram, @heynewshoes. The excitement from the community surrounding the new ice cream shop is evident — the account already has nearly 900 followers leaving encouraging comments on New Shoes’ posts,
New Shoes plans to open at some point this spring at 2856-A 18th Street South, a corner unit that was the former location of Thomas Andrew Art, Home & Faith and Chocolate America.
