A baking competition with a bigger purpose

The event supports Workshops Empowerment Inc., a Birmingham nonprofit dedicated to helping people living with disabilities and other barriers to employment build meaningful careers.
Through its WE Made program, participants gain hands-on experience in food production and retail—learning skills that translate directly into the workforce. From baking mixes to customer service, the program provides job training, steady income and real connections to local employers.
In fact, every dessert you’ll try at the Bake Off starts with one of WE Made’s Southern Staples mixes—so every bite supports the mission.
WE Inc. is also behind Empower Café, a local spot where guests can grab breakfast or lunch while supporting workforce development in action.
What to expect at the Bake Off

This isn’t your average baking competition: It’s more like a Saturday afternoon hangout with a purpose.
