A new restaurant is set to open in one of Birmingham’s most recognizable spaces: this summer, The Harrington Pub will take over the former home of The Lumbar in Pepper Place—bringing a European pub-inspired concept with Southern ingredients to the heart of the district.

With a focus on approachable food, strong drinks and a welcoming atmosphere, the restaurant aims to become a go-to neighborhood spot for everything from lunch to late-night hangs.

5. PopUp Bagels | The Summit

Last week, we reported on six tenants moving into The Summit—including cult-favorite, viral bagel chain PopUp Bagels opening this summer!

PopUp Bagels has earned widespread coverage across food and business media nationwide since it came on the scene for its small batch menu and “rip, grip and dip” approach to the classic New York style bagel. But the real magic of PopUp Bagels is in its revolving door of seasonal flavors and brand collabs including Grillo’s “pickle de gallo” cream cheese and Master’s pimento cheese.

6. Aritzia | The Summit

Speaking of what’s new at The Summit, a popular retailer is setting up shop soon: Aritzia!

The Canadian design house known for its curated portfolio of exclusive brands will open its first Alabama location at The Summit this summer. The boutique will occupy approximately 7,670 square feet near The Cheesecake Factory.

7. Redemption | Trussville

Straight Mountain Foods, a food truck and catering business, just signed a lease for a new restaurant space in Trussville, further expanding its operations.

The restaurant, “Redemption,” will diverge from the menu of the food truck, which mostly serves Southern fusion food, to offer more of a traditional meat-and-three experience during lunch with an expanded dinner menu.
