Popular food truck opening new Trussville area restaurant this summer
Reading time: 2 minutes

Straight Mountain Foods, a food truck and catering business, just signed a lease for a new restaurant space in Trussville, further expanding its operations.
The restaurant, “Redemption,” will diverge from the menu of the food truck, which mostly serves Southern fusion food, to offer more of a traditional meat-and-three experience during lunch with an expanded dinner menu.
Similar to the food truck, Redemption will have a frequently changing menu.

The name of the upcoming restaurant was inspired by Straight Mountain Foods’ success story.
“That name isn’t just something that sounded good on a sign. It represents the road we’ve walked to get here.
“Some of you remember when our first restaurant closed due to personal circumstances. A couple years later our food truck was destroyed in a fire. Those moments could have easily been the end of the story.”

Owner Colt Reese said that renovations are underway at the new spot located at 8885 Gadsden Highway near Trussville. He expects it to have a May or June opening.
In the meantime, check out Straight Mountain Foods’ offerings. Earlier this month, the menu included:
- Oak smoked brisket sandwiches
- Hand breaded chicken sandwiches
- Cheeseburgers
- Grilled shrimp served on top of grits
- Tacos
- Wings
- Fried ravioli
- Sides like smoked mac + cheese, loaded potato salad, casseroles, fries, corn nuggets + fried green tomatoes

Stay tuned to the food truck’s social media to see a schedule of where to find it on any given day. Once Redemption opens, it will be open seven days a week.
