When the Birmingham Zoo’s opossum Birmingham Jill predicted that we would have six more weeks of winter, we thought she totally blew this year’s forecast. Last week, temps hit the 80s and daffodils were blooming!

Well, we were wrong.

According to the National Weather Service, The Magic City and the metro area might get some snowflakes today between 11:00AM to Noon today, March 16th.

Temps are expected to hover around a bone-chilling upper 30s and low 40s throughout the day. On Monday evening and Tuesday morning, expect temps in the 20s.

No need to run out and get milk and bread yet, but you could do Bham Now a favor. Snap a pic or video of the snow coming down. It will likely be the last chance to see it in 2026.
