Birmingham to host NCAA D3 Indoor Track + Field Championship on March 13-14

Did you know the Birmingham CrossPlex at Five Points West is a world-class indoor track and field facility? The NCAA does.

That’s why athletes from all over the U.S. are coming to the Magic City this weekend to participate in the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships taking place March 13–14.

Wisconsin-LaCrosse is shooting for its fourth Division III men’s team championship. MIT is the reigning women’s champion.

Some of the premier men’s and women’s events on tap this weekend include:

  • Heptathlon + pentathlon 
  • Long jump
  • Triple jump
  • High jump
  • Shot put
  • Pole vault
  • 60-meter, 60-meter hurdles, 200-meter, 400-meter, 800-meter, mile, 3000-meter and 4X400-meter relay races

According to the City of Birmingham, the CrossPlex has welcomed several other NCAA competitions, including: 

  • NCAA Division I Indoor Championships in 2022, 2019 and 2016
  • NCAA Division II Indoor Championships in 2021, 2017, 2015 and 2013
  • NCAA Division III Indoor Championships in 2026, 2023 and 2018
