The Riverchase Promenade has a new stop for furniture, Flipsies, marking the second location of the locally-owned store.

Located at 1709 Montgomery Highway in Hoover, the new Flipsies store is occupying the former spot of Joann, a craft store that closed nationwide in 2025.

The location opened to the public Monday, Feb. 9, and later held a grand opening event with the Hoover Area Chamber of Commerce Friday, March 6.

Flipsies Furniture first opened in Hoover in 2021 at 4431 Creekside Avenue, which was about 7,500 square feet. It later moved to its Irondale location at 1811 Crestwood Boulevard in 2023 that is 28,000 square feet when the business continued to grow, the owner told Bham Now.

While there are no concrete plans in place, there have been conversations about expanding further in the Birmingham area in the future.
