African food restaurant Village Bar & Grill now open in Woodland Park

The Village Bar & Grill, a new restaurant for authentic African and Jamaican cuisine, is now open with a delicious menu with offerings ranging from goat and oxtail to okra.
Located at 873 Dennison Ave. SW, Suite 121, The Village had its soft opening on Monday, Feb. 9. Since then, there have been a handful of special events, including a Valentine’s Day celebration and a guest DJ event.
Each Friday and Saturday, The Village hosts nightlife from 9PM to 2AM with a live DJ and:
- $10 signature cocktails
- $2.50 samosa
- $25 hookahs
- $10 wings + fries
- and more!
The Village Bar & Grill menu
The menu features African favorites, including:
- Jollof Rice: African-style fried rice with mixed veggies
- Egusi & Fufu: Powdered melon seeds cooked with palm oil and seasoned with African spices
- Goat Stew: Tender goat meat cooked to perfection
- Oxtail Stew: Marinated, slow-cooked and seasoned with African spices
- Pepper Soup & Fufu: Spicy soup of chicken and goat, cooked with African spices
- Okra Soup: Traditional soup made with slow-simmered okra, savory spices and meat
The Village also serves genuine Jamaican drinks, such as Kola Champagne, ginger beer, pineapple soda, Ting and coconut water.
There are also specials, including a $12.99 jerk chicken + two sides meal.
Oxtail is particularly popular with customers, according to the restaurant, so hurry up and visit if you want to try it!
