What to do: action-packed events + fun activities

Birmingham’s calendar is jam-packed with events and activities that will keep you entertained all week long 👇
If you’re looking for high-speed thrills, you can’t beat the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship (March 21) and Monster Jam (March 28). Held at Protective Stadium—filled with a mind-boggling 9,200 TONS of dirt—these two fan-favorite events bring gravity-defying jumps, intense motocross racing and destruction-filled stunts to The Magic City.
If laughs and music are more your thing, don’t miss these events:
- Award-winning contemporary Christian singer/songwriter Phil Wickham is coming to Legacy Arena at the BJCC on March 18, bringing special guests Tauren Wells and Jamie MacDonald on his Song of the Saints tour.
- For fans of country music, don’t miss trailblazing country music star Eric Church at Legacy Arena at the BJCC on March 19.
- Grammy-award winner John Legend is bringing an intimate live performance of his timeless hits to the BJCC Concert Hall on March 23.
- Popular indie folk band The Lumineers, known for their unique modern Americana sound, will be performing their Automatic World Tour set at Legacy Arena on March 25.
- Legendary comedian and actor Jerry Seinfeld will be returning to Birmingham with a show at the BJCC Concert Hall on March 27.

Before these acts hit the stage, spend your day exploring Birmingham’s assortment of daytime activities.
Start your mornings with an outdoor adventure in City Walk BHAM, the popular urban trail adjacent to Uptown. Ideal for a job, bike ride or scenic walk, City Walk BHAM contains playgrounds, pickleball courts, a dog park, a skate park and much more. For even more family-friendly entertainment, check out the Birmingham Zoo and the McWane Science Center.
Located in downtown Birmingham, the McWane Science Center is an interactive museum with hands-on exhibits, breathtaking IMAX® Dome movie-going experiences, an aquarium (complete with a touch tank!) and more.
Although it’s a short drive from downtown, the Birmingham Zoo is a must-visit attraction—here, you’ll find 500+ animals such as red pandas, lion, giraffes, orangutans, rhinos, bears, elephants, zebras, a jaguar and many more.
Where to stay: luxurious accommodation in the heart of the action

Located in the heart of Uptown, The Sheraton Birmingham is Alabama’s largest hotel and recently underwent a $30M renovation and a comprehensive $5M renovation of the hotel lobby, adding a new signature restaurant with patio dining options called &More.
The Westin Birmingham features sleek, modern rooms with an upscale touch. Inside, you’ll find luxurious, pet-friendly accommodations, on-site parking and a refreshing rooftop pool with stunning views of the Birmingham skyline. Both hotels are located in the Uptown Entertainment District, putting a wide range of restaurants and nightlife just a short walk from your door.
