The Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport (BHM) has added a new airline.

Beginning Fourth of July weekend, Breeze Airways will add two new nonstop flights from BHM.

The two destinations? Fort Lauderdale, Florida (FLL) and Raleigh, North Carolina (RDU).

“This is an exciting day for travelers in Birmingham. Breeze is expanding rapidly and clearly has a lot of confidence in this market.”

Ashby Pate, Chair of the Birmingham Airport Authority Board

Here are the nonstop BHM flight details, including Breeze Airline’s low price:

  • Fort Lauderdale (nonstop on Mondays and Fridays starting July 3, from $59 one way)

Breeze Airways operates more than 300 year-round and seasonal routes to 86 cities in the United States. The airline has been named a top “Best Domestic Airline” by Travel + Leisure for four consecutive years.

“Birmingham has shown up.  In 2025, we came  real, real, real close to setting an all time passenger record of nearly 3.3 million passengers through this little terminal that looks like Disneyland, because it’s so clean and pristine.  That kind of robust traffic is not just a number, it’s a sign. It’s a signal. It’s an indicator of a strong local economy to the aviation world that the region, not just Birmingham, is growing.”

Tommy Spina, Vice Chair, Birmingham Airport Authority Board

Birmingham has been recruiting Breeze Airways for more than five years, according to a Breeze spokesperson.
