Vestavia plant nursery opens new rock shop—gems, dragon eggs + more
Reading time: 3 minutes

There’s a brand-new shop to explore at Andy’s Creekside Nursery in Vestavia—and it offers something other than plants. Deep Earth Rock Shop is the newest addition, and it’s packed with rocks, fossils and seriously sparkly finds.
Read on to discover why every visit feels like a treasure hunt.
Inside Deep Earth Rock Shop

Deep Earth Rock Shop is a brand-new space devoted entirely to rocks, fossils, crystals and all sorts of natural wonders. While the owner—Andy Burris—has always had an interest in unique stones, this is the first time the nursery has turned the passion into a shop made for exploring.
The addition can be found at Andy’s Creekside Nursery, just inside the main greenhouse.
“We’ve curated everything from small pocket treasures for kids to substantial collector piece. It’s a place where you can wander, look closely, and discover something different every time.”

What’s offered

When you visit the shop, expect to see shelves filled with a variety of large and small items, such as:
- Large amethyst clusters + geodes
- Rough specimens like fossils + shark teeth
- Tumbled stones
- Jewelry + one-of-a-kind statement pieces

Bonus: You’ll also find shaped stones including hand-carved hearts—the perfect gift for Valentine’s Day, an anniversary or an anytime thought-felt gift.
How to use rocks in your plant displays
While you’re checking out the new Deep Earth Rock Shop at Andy’s Creekside Nursery, don’t forget to stock up on indoor or outdoor plants.
Not all rocks are just for collecting—many can give your plant displays a serious style upgrade.
Here’s how the shop suggests using them:
- Top dressing: Polished river stones look perfect atop containers + potted plants.
- Terrarium accents: Small decorative stones add color, texture + a polished look.
- Landscape focal points: Larger rocks can serve as eye-catching centerpieces in garden beds.
- Mix + match: Combine natural stones with plants for contrast, texture + unexpected beauty.
“We love seeing customers mix natural stone with plant material to create something unique.”
