Vestavia Hills local + pup compete in world agility championship
Reading time: 1 minute

The World Agility Open (WAO) is one of the world’s most prestigious agility competitions, and a Vestavia Hills local and her dog are representing the United States with pride.
Birmingham represented in World Agility Open

Vestavia Hills’ Viveka Rosenberger earned a spot on the United States World Team and will represent the U.S. at the World Agility Open (WAO) 2026.
Viveka and her Shetland Sheepdog, Monty, got a spot on the World Team after placing 4th at the WAO tryouts.
Traditionally dominated by Border Collies, Rosenberger and Monty have broken barriers in agility dog competitions.
Fun fact: Rosenberger is the first competitor in Alabama to earn spots on multiple USA world teams!
Before WAO, she represented the U.S. on the AKC Agility World Team in Sweden, where the team finished 8th in the world.
“Making a World Team once is a dream. To do it multiple times, with a large Sheltie, on the world stage—it’s incredibly special.”
