Popular Seattle-based outdoor clothing store closing in Birmingham-area

Eddie Bauer, the popular century-old outdoor clothing store from Seattle, Washington, has posted “store closing” and “40% to 60%” sale signs at its The Outlets at Grand River location in Leeds.

Located at 6200 Grand River Blvd E, Suite 118-G, the iconic brand’s parent company Catalyst Brands, announced it was filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy this month.

It is unclear how long the store will remain open. Presently, the Birmingham-area store’s hours are:

  • Monday through Saturday — 10AM to 8PM
  • Sunday — Noon to 6PM

2nd clothing store shuttering in 2026

This is the second clothing store to close in the Birmingham metro area. In January 2026, Francesca’s, a women’s apparel chain, announced the shuttering of its three Magic City locations at The Summit, Riverchase Galleria and The Outlets at Grand River.
