Good news, foodies. Southbound Food Festival announced its return to Birmingham in 2026. For 10 days this September, you can indulge in the best food, conversation and culture of The Magic City. Here’s what we know.

Southbound Food Festival 2026

First hosted in Birmingham in 2023, FOOD+Culture Festival quickly made its name known as a premier celebration of Alabama’s culinary heritage and diversity. Last year, the brand refreshed as Southbound Food Festival and now, it’s back for its fourth year.

Aside from dozens of local restauraunts participating in the 10-day event, there will also be programs and time for fellowship. Programs including:

  • Heritage Dinner: Multi-course, seated dinner
  • Rooted: Women in Food: Market with female artisans + chef demos
  • Southern Living’s Food & Fire: Walk-around live-fire tasting
  • Funk brunch: Soulful food + music celebration at Sloss Furnaces
