Another Hardee’s has closed in Birmingham metro area
Reading time: 1 minute

The Hardee’s restaurant across from the new Alabaster library and recreation center that is under construction has closed.
Located at 9940 Highway 119 in Alabaster, the fast food chain known for its made-from-scratch biscuits and big burgers lasted nearly eight years.
This is the fourth Hardee’s location to close in recent years.
The other three Hardee’s restaurants were located at:
- the I-59 exit to the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport
- Bessemer Superhighway in Midfield near Western Hills Mall (now an Ocean Seafood & Fried Chicken)
- Montgomery Highway in Vestavia Hills (now a Guthrie’s)
More Hardee’s closures coming?
In December, the chain announced plans to close up to 77 locations nationwide across eight states. Fortunately, only one Alabama restaurant from Geneva was included on the list.
There are 91 Hardee’s locations currently in Alabama, one of the highest concentrations of restaurants nationally within the chain.
