New Urban Cookhouse opens today in Hoover’s Stadium Trace Village

Urban Cookhouse—the local restaurant chain founded in 2010 by David and Andrea Snyder—is opening a brand-new location in Hoover’s Stadium Trace Village today. The brand is marking the debut of its fifth Birmingham-area restaurant with a week-long lineup of special activities and giveaways, and will open its doors at 10AM.

About Urban Cookhouse

Founded in Homewood in 2010, Urban Cookhouse is a local restaurant chain created by David and Andrea Snyder that specializes in farm-to-table meals utilizing local produce from farmers in central and northern Alabama. On the menu, you’ll find sandwiches, salads and wraps as well as grilled chicken, steak and rice bowls, kabobs and more.

Urban Cookhouse’s new Hoover location opens Monday, January 19

`In August 2025, Bham Now reported that Urban Cookhouse planned to open its fifth Birmingham-area location in Hoover’s Stadium Trace Village. The new restaurant is located between Hero Doughnuts and Battle Republic in a 3,200-square-foot space originally intended for a Rodney Scott’s BBQ.

Urban Cookhouse is kicking off its opening with special grand opening events all week:

• Tuesday, January 20 — $25 gift card for the first 50 customers + a live artist from 11:30AM to 1:30PM
• Wednesday, January 21 — Free wine for all teachers on Wine Down Wednesday + special guest Shon Harvey from 5PM to 7PM
• Thursday, January 22 — $10 gift card with a take-home dinner purchase after 3PM
• Friday, January 24 — Free small tub of chicken salad with purchase of two entrees + live music 11AM to 1PM
• Saturday, January 25 — Free brownie sundae for kids under 12 + live magic 11AM to 2PM
• Sunday, January 26 — Farm Bowl + Juice coupon with every order all day
