Satellite by Domestique Coffee to end operations at Saturn
Reading time: 2 minutes

A local coffee shop at one of Birmingham’s most popular music venues has announced it will be ending operations, according to a recent social media post.
Satellite, Domestique Coffee’s cafe at Saturn, will permanently close after its last day in operation on Saturday, Jan. 31.
Saying farewell after 8 years
“Dear friends, we write to you today to let you know that our last day of service at Satellite will be January 31st. What a journey this has been! Since 2018 our team has shown up 7-days a week to create community through coffee in Avondale.
We’re forever grateful for the friendships and relationships we’ve built while at Satellite. Thank you to everyone who stepped through the doors on 41st as a patron or an employee. As we say goodbye and look towards other opportunities as a company, we’re excited to support Saturn in whatever way we can in the future.
You can continue your daily Domestique Coffee routine at our Homewood breakfast and lunch cafe Dawn Patrol or our soon to open tasting room at our Roastery HQ in Lakeview. Pop-in to Domestique Satellite before the 31st for old time’s sake. We hope to see you again before our last shift.
Forever grateful,

When one door closes…
Though it’s bittersweet to see this longtime Avondale coffee shop go, the announcement hinted at what’s next: a tasting room at Domestique’s Lakeview HQ.
Grab a final drink at Satellite before Jan. 31, or head to Dawn Patrol, Domestique’s breakfast and lunch café near downtown Homewood in the meantime.
