2026 is already off to a busy start as a new coffee shop is gearing up to open in downtown Birmingham.

Daysol Coffee, owned by local roasters Bert Davis and Peter Solis, opens on January 17 in the former site of Ghost Train and Uproot Brewing at 2616 3rd Ave S.

If the name rings a bell, that might be because you’ve seen it at  Bluff Park Coffee Collective—a joint venture between two local small businesses, Daysol Coffee Lab and Good Neighbor Baking, located in Shades Mountain Plaza.

The cafe’s menu offers a variety of espresso drinks, house-made syrups, kombucha, pastries, matcha and other teas.

Per Daysol’s social media, the expansive 8,000-square-foot space will bring together a roastery and retail shop in one location, along with an art gallery and an outdoor stage designed for live music.
