A lot of bars and coffee shops around the Birmingham area feature games to play while you hang out. But there’s a new cafe in Alabaster that offers coffee and snacks while you play from their 300-game library.

For the past few months, 10:25 Tabletop Games has hosted pop-ups at businesses across Shelby County. And now, as of Friday, January 2, they’ve opened the doors to their very own space.

What is a game cafe?

Terri, the owner of 10:25 Tabletop Games, has hosted small groups for the past decade, but like many longtime hosts, she eventually found herself wanting a dedicated space of her own.

“Some people might not host game nights because they don’t have the room, they’re looking for an affordable place, they don’t want to clean their house or their neighbors get upset because too many cars are parked in the yard. I wanted a place that was convenient for everybody.”

So she created a game cafe for that reason.

The cool part: You can pop in and play during regular hours, rent a floor of the building or the entire house!

Here’s how it works:

  1. Purchase a pass to 10:25’s 300-game library—whether it’s a solo pass or a private space for your group.
  2. Order food + Prevail Union coffee to enjoy while you play.
  3. Select any games you want to play, and let others join you at your table to connect with new friends!

The name is inspired by Hebrews 10:25—”not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the day approaching.”
