A Birmingham favorite

According to the Birmingham Business Journal, SanPeggio’s Pizza announced in a Facebook post on Jan. 2 that it plans to open a new location at 5250 Medford Drive, Suite 106, formerly home to a Papa Murphy’s restaurant.
Founded in 2000 by brothers Pat and Mike Sanford and their friend Tim Pegg, SanPeggio’s got its start in Chelsea and has since become known for its New York–style pizza and wide-ranging menu.
Today, the brand operates six locations in:
- Five Points: 1024 20th St S
- Homewood: 803 Green Springs Hwy
- Hoover: 2657 Valleydale Rd
- Valleydale: 2657 Valleydale Rd, Hoover, AL 35244
- Trussville: 7270 Gadsden Hwy # 100, Trussville, 35173
- Chelsea: 50 Chelsea Rd, Chelsea, AL 35043
And coming soon, Hoover location: 5250 Medford Drive, Suite 106
The menu features classic and gourmet pizzas—along with salads and subs, making it a go-to option for casual lunches, dinners and takeout.
Busy area continues to grow
The new SanPeggio’s will be located along the I-459 corridor, an area that has seen growth in recent years. Nearby businesses include Sprouts Farmers Market and Jimmy John’s, placing the restaurant in a high-traffic retail hub.
An opening date for the new SanPeggio’s location has not yet been announced, but pizza lovers in Hoover can look forward to another local favorite joining the neighborhood soon.
