Birmingham’s newest stage — the Coca-Cola Amphitheater — just wrapped its first concert season, welcoming more than 174,000 fans since June, with nearly 30 live shows fueling the excitement around a new chapter for live music in the Magic City.
From Dave Matthews Band, Phish and Twenty One Pilots to Alabama Shakes, T-Pain, Nelly, Jessie Murph, Riley Green and more, every show added to an incredible first year that’s helping shape the future of live music in Birmingham.
Bringing Birmingham together

The Coca-Cola Amphitheater represents more than a name on a building; it reflects Coca-Cola’s connection to Birmingham’s community and its growing cultural scene. Each show brought the city to life, filling nearby restaurants, hotels and local businesses, and creating shared moments that strengthened the sense of community.
That connection is what this partnership was built on: a shared belief that live music can help fuel the city’s cultural landscape and bring people together in meaningful ways.
Supporting more sustainable shows

That same spirit of collaboration extended behind the scenes, where the amphitheater and its partners worked to make each show more sustainable.
The venue introduced a zero-waste management system designed to keep more materials out of landfills. A dedicated sustainability team was on-site at every show, sorting materials by hand, baling recycled plastic, aluminum and cardboard, and coordinating deliveries to recycling hubs across Birmingham.
These new processes helped move the venue closer to its goal of becoming a zero-waste facility.
Coca-Cola UNITED supported the venue’s recycling efforts by partnering with Circular Solutions to create a back-of-house system that separates and processes bottles and cans collected at each show. Those materials are then reclaimed, recycled and remade into new packaging.
The amphitheater’s beverage program also featured Dasani, Coke, Diet Coke and Coke Zero in 100% recycled plastic bottles, alongside Sprite, Peace Tea, and energy drinks in aluminum cans, reinforcing a shared commitment to sustainability throughout the venue.
Those collective efforts led to a major milestone: a “zero-waste” concert during Dave Matthews Band’s June 24 performance and a 70% landfill diversion rate across the entire season.
Looking ahead
The Coca-Cola Amphitheater’s first season was just the beginning. The venue is set to bring even more music, connection and celebration to the Magic City in 2026.
From collecting more than 600 pounds of recyclables at major events like the Magic City Classic to launching exciting initiatives like Reverse Vending Machines (RVM) at local colleges, Coca-Cola is doing its part to build a sustainable future in The Magic City.
