Birmingham GameStop location just off US-280 closing this week

A Birmingham location of GameStop will close this week after the game retail company announced a slew of closures across the country. It is one of three locations closing in Alabama.
Located at 4507 Riverview Parkway in the River Ridge shopping complex, the GameStop location’s last day in operation will be tomorrow, Wednesday, Jan. 7, according to hours listed on the company’s website.
On Tuesday, Jan. 6, employees inside were packing up inventory and removing decorations from the store.
The other two locations in Alabama that will be permanently closing their doors are located at:
- Hartselle — 1199 Hwy. 31 NW
- Troy —1410 Hwy. 231 South
More than 160 locations across the country will close soon as well, according to a crowdsourced list.
