New outdoor retailer opening first Alabama store next to Trader Joe’s in Hoover

A national retail store that sells outdoor apparel and equipment is coming to Hoover.

Sierra, a retail store whose parent company TJX Companies owns T.J. Maxx, Marshalls and HomeGoods, is opening its first location in Alabama at 1771 Montgomery Hwy — the former Bed Bath & Beyond location next to Trader Joe’s. 

Some of their items include:

  • Outdoor equipment —  binoculars, fishing rods, coolers, kayaks, mountain bikes, tents and more
  • Men and Women apparel —  activewear, shoewear and accessories 
  • Home and pet decor

145 Sierra stores nationwide

Established in the 1980s in Nevada, Sierra, which was formerly the Sierra Trading Company, has up to 145 stores nationwide.

Presently, there is a coming soon Sierra.com sign in front of the Hoover storefront.
