2 new openings (+ 3 coming soon!) in the Birmingham area

It’s a new week (and almost a New Year!) in The Magic City, and that means a new roundup of businesses opening their doors around town.

From a renovated fitness center to a new high-fidelity listening lounge, here are two new openings + three coming soon you should keep your eye on.

Now Open

1. Wingstop | Trussville + Crestwood

Texas-based buffalo wing franchise Wingstop is expanding its presence in the Birmingham Metro. Founded in 1994, Wingstop currently operates 2,000+ locations nationwide, including Birmingham Metro locations in:

• Helena
• Bessemer
• Inverness
• Gardendale
• Birmingham
• Hoover

Wingstop recently opened two new locations in the Birmingham Metro:

• Trussville | 7268 Gadsden Hwy #104, Trussville, AL 35173
• Crestwood | 4500 Montevallo Rd Suite E103, Birmingham, AL 35210

Both new locations are open daily from 10:30AM to Midnight and offer both dine-in, takeout and delivery.

2. Fitness Center North | Smithfield

After a brief hiatus for renovation, Fitness Center North in Birmingham’s Smithfield Community has officially reopened. Made possible by funding from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and support from the City of Birmingham, the renovation addressed long-needed facility repairs, updates to the building’s roofing and flooring and added new, state-of-the-art exercise equipment.

3. High Dive Lounge | Lakeview Marina

Starting on New Year’s Eve, music lovers in Birmingham will soon have a new place to congregate, enjoy food & drink designed by James Beard Award-winning Chef Sean Brock and listen to high-fidelity sound. High Dive is a brand-new listening lounge located at Lakeview Marina, the large new development home to Seasick Records, Classic Cuts Barbershop and Cook Family Dentistry.

High Dive will officially open to the public on Wednesday, December 31 with special New Year’s Eve events:

• When: Wednesday, December 31st
  • Dinner: 4-9PM | Parties of up to 4 can enjoy a meal with music provided by DJ Zach Attack | Reservations available here
  • Party: 9PM-12:30AM | Live music from The Undergrounders + bubbly toast at midnight for $25/person | Reservations + details here

The party continues the next day with a special New Year’s Day brunch from 10AM-2PM, featuring live music from jazz artist Marlowe Shepherd; get reservations here. Regular hours will pick up in the new year.

4. Balance Wine | Pepper Place

A new wine club + concierge service is coming to Pepper Place in January 2026. Located in Pepper Place at 2805 2nd Ave S. Suite #200, Balance Wine will offer great wine from small, family-owned wineries from across the globe through two services:

• Wine Club, a monthly subscription service offering 2-3 bottles of wine handpicked by the Balance Wine team to help you expand your wine palate.
• Wine Concierge, a curated service for dinners, weddings or corporate events that offers a lineup of wine options to match your menu, number of guests and budget.

5. toujours | Hoover

A new chef-driven restaurant rooted in New Orleans influence is opening in Hoover on New Year’s Eve. Located at 4524 Southlake Pkwy Suite 7, toujours is an upscale-casual restaurant featuring a mix of big and small plates, with options like NOLA bbq shrimp, seared wild salmon and hanger steak chimichurri. The new restaurant is set to open on Wednesday, December 31.
