‘Tis the season! Tons of local churches are hosting Christmas Eve services to celebrate Jesus’ birth and bring hope and peace this holiday season.

Read on for 13 church services we found, in no particular order.

1. Asbury United Methodist Church

With traditional and a modern candlelight services, there’s something to fit everyone’s schedule at Asbury United Methodist Church on Christmas Eve. Looking to enjoy the service from your home? You can watch every program on the livestream.

2. Briarwood Presbyterian Church

Briarwood has two family-friendly candlelight services on Christmas Eve at 5PM and 7PM. Plus, a later communion service.

3. Brookwood Baptist Church

For some earlier options, Brookwood Baptist Church is having two candlelight and communion services at 3PM and 5PM, and you can catch their 5PM program on the livestream.

4. Covenant Presbyterian Church

Celebrate the season at one of Covenant Presbyterian Church’s three services—good for anyone’s schedule! If you’re bringing your kids along, register for childcare for either the 3:30PM or 5PM service.

5. Edgewood Presbyterian Church

Everyone’s invited to join Edgewood Presbyterian at their Christmas Eve service, complete with worship, lessons and candlelight. And if you can’t make it in person, you guessed it…you can watch the service online.

6. First Presbyterian Church

First Presbyterian is ringing in Christmas with a special candlelight service, communion and joy offering.

7. First United Methodist Church

At First United Methodist’s Christmas Eve program, you can choose between two candlelight services, or stay for both!

The 4PM service is in the loft—coffee, cookies and other snacks are available before! Then, the 6PM service will have hymns, Christmas carols and communion.

Nursery is available during both services.

8. Valleydale Church

For a simple but meaningful service, Valleydale Church has two Christmas Eve services with worship and candle lighting. Childcare is available at the 3PM service for kids ages three and under.

Plus, in between the candlelight program is a “Remembrance Service” for those who have lost loved ones, especially this year, to gather together for encouragement.

9. Highlands United Methodist Church

At 5PM, join Highlands United Methodist for a candlelight service with a choir and communion. Additionally, you can attend a family-oriented service at 2 PM or their Christmas choral concert at 4:30 PM.

10. Independent Presbyterian Church

For a service of Lessons & Carols, which includes candlelight, music and readings, head to Independent Presbyterian in Highland Park at 4PM or 6PM.

And they’ll have a nativity service at 11AM to share the Christmas story and songs by a children’s choir.

11. Shades Mountain Baptist Church

Head to Shades Mountain Baptist Church for worship and family time. There will be candlelight services at 1PM, 3PM and 5PM, with Christmas festivities before and after in the lobby. In addition to three Christmas Eve services in the Worship Center, there will also be an acoustic Christmas Eve service in the Conference Center at 3PM.

If you have kids ages three and under, there will be childcare during the 1PM and 3PM services.

12. The Lutheran Church of Vestavia Hills

LCVH is hosting a Christmas Eve Family Service at 4PM, and then another “Festival Service” at 7:30PM. Both are guaranteed time for worship and family.

13. Metropolitan Church

You’re invited to a beautiful Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at Metropolitan Church. Bring your family to celebrate the joy of Christ’s birth with Christmas carols, candlelight and communion.
