11 seasonal drinks to try in Birmingham this winter

It’s certainly wintertime in Birmingham, made especially evident by the frigid mornings this year!

Here are some delicious, seasonal drinks that are sure to warm you up and keep you feeling cozy on a winter day.

1. Hansel & Gretel — Frothy Monkey

Enjoy a delicious gingerbread latte while giving back to the community. Each purchased Hansel & Gretel contributes $1 to the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama.

As for the drink itself, the latte is made with espresso, steamed milk, house-made gingerbread sauce with a dusting of cocoa powder.

2. Eggnog Latte — Santos Coffee

Santos offers several holiday treats, but it’s hard to beat classic eggnog. Try out this delicious latte that tastes like Christmas!

This hazelnut-based latte packs in a few comforting spices like cinnamon, cardamom, anise, ginger and white pepper. It’s topped with a spiced whipped cream and cinnamon sugar.

6. Yule Log — Domestique Coffee

Domestique’s signature holiday drink this season is the Yule Log, a spicy peppermint mocha cappuccino, served alongside a little chocolate treat.

Among this small business’ offerings this holiday season is the Grinch Matcha, an appropriately-green drink with a holiday twist. The matcha drink has vanilla, brown sugar cinnamon, cold foam and is topped with festive sprinkles. Available hot or iced.

8. Spiced Orange Latte — O’Henry’s

I’ve always been a huge fan of pecan pie, but in a latte? This is a dream come true.

9. Rose-Mary Did You Know? — Seeds Coffee Co.

The name says it all: This drink has homemade rosemary and brown sugar syrup with espresso and your choice of milk. Listen to the classic Christmas song while sipping to perfect the atmosphere.

10. Salted Maple Marshmallow Latte — Caveat Coffee

This drink from Caveat is plenty sweet; it has marshmallow fluff in it! The Salted Maple Marshmallow Latte, one of several holiday specials, has marshmallow syrup + fluff, salted maple syrup and your choice of milk, hot or iced.
