A new space for kids in Birmingham is about to officially open, with offerings that include obstacle courses, ball pits, a carousel and more.

The new play center, Playdate, is located in Roebuck and designed for children 12 and under and their parents. Bookings are now open, so read on to learn about this new event space designed with kids’ fun and safety in mind.

About Playdate

Playdate’s goal is to keep the space clean, engage kids and allow parents to feel safe and comfortable while their kids play.

“The Playdate concept was inspired by visits to other centers that offered limited play facilities for children and unsatisfactory catering for parents. To address these issues, we created relaxed and clean play centers that provide stimulating and enjoyable activities for children.”

The facility has a handful of attractions to choose from:

  • Soft Play — a safe, exciting way for kids to stay active together
  • Net Course — indoor obstacle net course made to engage and challenge
  • Kiddie Towne — designed for kids under 4 with a ball pond, mini slides, carousel and more
  • Kiddie Island — engaging activities designed to stimulate children’s physical and cognitive abilities
  • Inflatables — obstacle course and slide that encourages jumping, crawling and sliding
  • Cannon Area — shoot soft, foam balls at targets and engage in friendly battles

For babies and children under 3 feet tall, there are designated play areas in order to ensure their safety.
