New mural on Vestavia Hills animal hospital

A new mural popped up on the side of Britt Animal Hospital near Cahaba Heights. A project by Shawn Fitzwater and his two sons, Gabe and Noah, the mural features two dogs and a cat in a colorful and spunky design.

Britt Animal Hospital’s new mural

Artist Shawn Fitzwater from Fitz Signs & Murals grew up drawing and sketching, but before he even knew it, his self-taught skills brought him a full-time career.

He’s designed and created signs, murals and more for local businesses across Birmingham and across the country.

Now, his newest work is depicted across Britt Animal Hospital at 380 Summit Blvd.

Shawn let us know that once Britt Animal Hospital staff requested different animals on the mural, he took his own geometric style and ran with it.

Vestavia Hills Arts Council, a nonprofit committed to cultivating the creative capacity in Vestavia, weighed in on the work and how it’s something fun the whole community can celebrate.
