The holidays are one of the busiest times of the year, and it can be hard to keep up with everything on our plates.

If you are scrambling at the last minute to figure out what your family Thanksgiving or Friendsgiving celebration is going to eat for the last course, don’t fret. The Magic City is full of amazing bakeries that will never fail to impress at a dining table.

Here are seven great options in the area that will ensure your Thanksgiving meal is as sweet as can be!

K&J’s Elegant Pastries — Birmingham

Two of the Thanksgiving offerings from K&J’s are red velvet cheesecake and sweet potato cheesecake. (K&J’s Elegant Pastries)

K&J’s may be most popular for its cupcakes, but owner Kristal Bryant sure can whip up a beautiful autumn cake. She is now taking orders for cream cheese pound cakes, red velvet cheesecake and sweet potato cheesecake — but I’m sure there would be no complaints with some cupcakes on the table, either.

Bandit Pâtisserie — Birmingham

In my humble opinion, it’s hard to go wrong with Bandit. Pre-orders for their pies, tarts, carrot cake, cookies, quiche and rolls are open now. It’s a hard decision between all those wonderful pastries, but there is no wrong choice. Bandit also introduced “Pie it Forward,” which is a way for customers to donate money to provide pies to food insecure communities during the holiday season, and these donations can be added to your cart during pre-order.

Carsen’s Corner — Irondale

This bakery is run out of a home, but the treats are no joke. Choose from cake pops, cheesecake bites, candy apples, chocolate covered berries and more. The Thanksgiving goodies are wonderfully themed as iconic fall imagery and autumnal vibes. As a bonus, throughout the rest of the month, order the November special for $100, which includes tons of goodies.
