Birmingham-based eye care group TriaVision announced that it is acquiring VisionFirst into its statewide network. This merger will create one of the largest vision care networks in the South.
Birmingham’s Triavision acquires VisionFirst

After their work as dedicated UAB faculty members, 14 former UAB Callahan Eye Hospital doctors founded TriaVision in 2024.
Since then, the center has expanded its collaborative model to 13 locations and welcomed 25 ophthalmologists and optometrists—some of the most experienced eye surgeons and clinicians in the state!
Now, TriaVision is welcoming VisionFirst into its ever-growing network.
With 30 years of practice in Alabama across five locations, VisionFirst has always been a leading eye care practice around town. And this alliance with TriaVision adds all the more expertise and trust among patients.
Plus, this merger further advances TriaVision’s investment in surgical innovation, including the new ophthalmic Ambulatory Surgery Center to deliver advanced cataract and vision correction procedures, ensuring patients have seamless access to both clinic and surgical services within one integrated system.
All VisionFirst locations will transition to the TriaVision brand by March 1, 2026.
