Alabama Fiber Festival brings creativity + community to Cahaba Brewing in Birmingham



Hosted by the Alabama Fiber Arts Foundation, this vibrant festival brings together more than 50 vendors and 27 workshops showcasing everything from yarn dyeing and weaving to up-cycling sweaters (yes, that fav sweater at the back of your closet can be reborn!).
What’s great is that whether you’re a stitching pro or have never touched a knitting needle in your life, everyone is welcome to join the fun. Along with colorful skeins and handmade goods, you’ll meet friendly people who are just as obsessed with fiber arts as you are.

Here’s a peek at what’s happening during this fiber-filled event:
- 50+ vendors from across the Southeast—some include:
- 27 workshops for all skill levels
- 3 food trucks serving local favorites—The Current, Stephen’s Hotdog Wagon + Taco Morro Loco
- Live music from Birmingham band Nightmare Cutie Pie
- A live alpaca from Cahaba Critters—Saturday only!
New at Alabama Fiber Fest 2025

The 2025 Alabama Fiber Festival is spinning in some exciting new additions you won’t want to miss:
- Friday Night Sit & Stitch (5–9PM): Cozy up at Cahaba Brewing for a relaxed evening of stitching, chatting + good vibes. Local fiber artist Bethany Moody takes the mic at 6PM to share her creative journey and tips for makers.
- Silent auction: Bid + win featured items donated by every 2025 vendor.
- Kerchief Make-A-Long: Grab a free pattern here, start creating + bring your masterpiece (or work-in-progress) to show off at the event.
Local fiber groups will be there all weekend—stop by their booths to connect, swap stories and grow your fiber arts circle.
Alabama Fiber Festival workshops to experience

Want to level-up your maker skills? There will be a variety of unique workshops taking place during the festival. Some to note include “Freestyle Weaving for the Creative Spirit,” “Intro to Fiber & Wool” and “Yarn on a Budget: Upcycling Sweaters.”
That last one is calling my name, because in all honesty, my sweater collection could use a second life.
