Cluck-le up, Birmingham: We have yet another fried chicken joint to indulge in.

The new restaurant, B’Ham Chicken, occupies a stall in The Pizitz Food Hall and opened on Friday, Oct. 24 for lunch.

B’Ham Chicken is owned by husband-wife-duo Young and Kookie Shin, who also own The Standard across the hall. Kookie said that their location for The Standard in Vestavia Hills had sold fried chicken, which led The Pizitz to express interest in bringing it to its own booth.

The menu is pared down and focuses on a few Southern staples:

  • Hand-breaded tenders
  • Wings
  • Fried chicken sandwich
  • Chicken philly sandwich

The sides are also mouth-watering classics:

  • Mac + cheese
  • Cole slaw
  • Fried potato chips
  • Potato salad

Last but certainly not least, they offer several sauces for their tenders, wings and sandwiches:

  • Buffalo (mild or hot)
  • Ranch
  • Honey mustard
  • Honey BBQ
  • Lemon pepper (mild or hot, for wings)
  • Garlic pepper (for wings)
  • K-signature

I visited and got a chicken sandwich with cole slaw and had the chicken tossed in buffalo sauce, and I loved every last bite. Other Bham Nowers ordered their signature chicken fingers and left no crumbs.
