From sold-out Chris Brown and NBA YoungBoy performances to a packed-out NBA preseason game, October has been a massive month for the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex (BJCC). In less than two weeks, BJCC venues have welcomed over 74,000 guests for a diverse lineup of sold-out shows, community gatherings and special performances.

October was one of the busiest months in the BJCC’s recent history

On Wednesday, October 23, more than 11,000 fans filled Legacy Arena for a sold-out performance from Louisiana-based rapper NBA YoungBoy. Inside the arena, fans enjoyed a safe and memorable experience that showcased Birmingham’s growing reputation as a go-to stop for top-tier artists.

“We want to thank the Birmingham Police Department, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Live Nation, and our BJCC team for their partnership and preparation leading up to the event. And to the fans—thank you for following event guidelines and helping create a fun, safe, and unforgettable atmosphere. Nights like this truly highlight what makes Birmingham such a vibrant destination for live entertainment.”

Tad Snider, President and CEO, BJCC

NBA YoungBoy’s show capped off one of the BJCC’s busiest months in recent history, highlighted by:

  • Chris Brown’s Breezy Bowl XX on October 11, which drew a massive crowd of 35,000 fans to Protective Stadium. Fun fact: this was the first outdoor concert held at Protective Stadium since Garth Brooks’ legendary performance in 2022.
  • A packed-out NBA preseason matchup between the New Orleans Pelicans and the Houston Rockets drew 12,000+ basketball fans to Legacy Arena.

“This series of sold-out and large-scale events demonstrates Birmingham’s ability to deliver concerts, sporting events, and entertainment experiences that rival any market in the country. Each successful event builds confidence among promoters, artists, and fans that the BJCC provides safe, seamless, and exciting experiences—positioning us to attract even more major events to our city.”

The BJCC’s diverse lineup of October shows also included:

  • Rock Orchestra by Candlelight
  • MasterChef AllStars Live
  • UAB Blazers Football
  • Birmingham Legion FC
