1. Live music: Lisa Loeb & Joan Osborne

Calling all ’90s kids! Get ready for a nostalgia-packed night featuring two powerhouse voices in American music. Lisa Loeb “Stay” and Joan Osborne, “What If God Was One of Us” are taking over the Jemison Concert Hall at UAB’s Alys Stephens Center for a night of storytelling, pop music fun and seriously good vibes. Perfect for a GNO!

2. For your creative family: Upcoming classes + events at ArtPlay


ArtPlay is UAB’s home for community arts education—and this fall’s offerings include everything from dance and playwriting to family-friendly celebrations and pop-up events. These classes are designed for all experience levels and give participants the chance to try something new, build skills and have fun.

3. Spoken Word Night at AEIVA

UAB Creative Writing students will present original spoken word pieces inspired by AEIVA’s current exhibition, Young, Gifted and Black. The night offers a chance to see the impact of visual art on literary expression, with a post-performance Q&A that invites deeper dialogue with the student writers.

4. AIM After Hours: A New Kind of Creative Night Out

AIM After Hours is a new members-only event from UAB’s Arts in Medicine program, designed to help you unwind and reconnect through creativity. This session invites guests into a collaborative art-making experience led by visual artist Annie Butrus, poet Salaam Green and violinist Haleigh Black. Participants will contribute to Butrus’ Color Response Project, using art, poetry and music to explore collective imagination.
