This Saturday, October 18, the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute (BCRI) will host Bound Together: Day of Community—a public gathering honoring the lives memorialized in the Jefferson County Memorial Quilt.
This free event invites the community to reflect, connect and remember those lost to racial terror in Jefferson County through art.

Here’s what you can expect during the event:


This free event is the grand finale of the Jefferson County Memorial Quilt, a moving tribute to the 33 African Americans who were lynched in Jefferson County between the 1800s and 1940s.
The quilt was created through a powerful partnership between Create Birmingham, Jefferson County Memorial Project (JCMP), Bib & Tucker Sew-Op, The Black Cherry Tree Project and BCRI.
