Chick-fil-A to open 100th Alabama location in Chelsea
Reading time: 2 minutes

A new Chick-fil-A is coming to Chelsea, according to Mayor Tony Picklesimer’s recent State of the City address.
The new restaurant is part of a new $75M development in the area. Called the Chelsea Plaza, the development will sit off of the eastbound side of Hwy 280 near the intersection of Chesser Plantation Lane and the highway.
Chelsea Plaza’s anchor tenant
The new Chick-fil-A at Chelsea Plaza will mark the 100th location within the state of Alabama, according to the Shelby County Reporter.
However, it will be a little bit of a wait before you can get your hands on a fresh chicken sandwich at Chelsea Plaza.
According to Mayor Picklesimer, the project will require significant dirt work including a new connector road, meaning it will likely take 18 to 24 months to complete. (Unfortunately, if another Chick-fil-A is built within that window, it will no longer be the 100th Alabama location.)
Additional details about the project:
- 14.5 acres of land
- 16 retail and commercial units
- Units range anywhere from 1,000 to 20,000 square feet
